History

The University of Kragujevac, situated in Kragujevac, Serbia, was established on May 21, 1976. Its origins, however, date back to the 19th century, with the founding of the Lyceum of the Principality of Serbia in 1838, which was the first institution of higher education in modern Serbia. This early establishment fostered a robust educational tradition in the city.

Over the years, the University of Kragujevac has significantly expanded, incorporating additional faculties and departments to cater to the diverse educational demands of the region. Today, it consists of 12 faculties that offer a broad spectrum of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs across various disciplines, including engineering, economics, law, medical sciences, arts, and social sciences.
